what you will need...
before you schedule a notarization appointment:
we suggest you do not sign or date your documents, as some documents must be signed and dated in the presence of a notary.
verify with your document issuer what exaclty is required to complete your documents correctly. ( i.e. an ADDITIONAL in-person witness, jurat, a certificate of identitiy, etc.)
make sure you have and bring all pages of the document/s needing notarization, not just the signature page/s.
ensure all document signers (including any witnesses) have valid identification.
Clients must provide a minimum of one OR more of the following UNEXPIRED forms of identification to achieve successful notarization:
1. A United States Passport
2. A United States Passport Card
3. A certificate of United States citizenship
4. A certificate of naturalization
5. A foreign passport
6. A United States green card with photograph
7. A state issued driver’s license
8. State-issued identification card
9. A United States military identification card
Generally speaking, Social Security cards, birth or marriage certificates, credit cards, school IDs, library cards and temporary driver's licenses are not acceptable forms of ID for notarization purposes.
You will need to confirm how many forms of identification your document will require to be completed from the document issuer.
